Gough Hotels

Sales Manager

Gough Hotels is looking for a Sales Manager to proactively identify and secure new business via relevant new opportunities, in addition to implementing retention activity for existing clients, in line with Gough Hotels overall Sales and Marketing strategy. The main focus will be to drive business from the Corporate market either booking direct or via key Business Travel Agents; Securing New group & tours business; Promotion of accommodation with local Wedding Venues; and Maximise sales of Gough Hotels Event Spaces.

Job and Person Specification

  1. Highly skilled individual with comprehensive sales experience achieved working in the 4/5 star hotel, hospitality and/or corporate sales industry.
  2. Corporate Sales experience within the Hotel / Hospitality industries would be an advantage as the person needs to prove a clear understanding of how Corporate business works and how they will approach growing Gough Hotels market share.
  3. Proven sales track record, likely to be a minimum of 4 years experience, with demonstrable drive to achieve deadlines and financial targets.
  4. Commercial minded approach to all sales activity i.e. partnerships, promotions. Plus an understanding of brand marketing, database management and comfortable using PMS systems / excel etc.
  5. As the brand ambassador need to be a positive person, confident with mature attitude and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  6. Excellent proven client relationship management, business development, service delivery and communication skills.
  7. High level of attention to detail in all written, printed and verbal communication.
  8. Team player but self motivated, financially driven and able to priorities activity that will drive sales.
  9. As stated it is probable a minimum of 4 years working experience would be expected but an exceptional individual would be considered.

Chef de Partie 

The successful candidate will be passionate about food, have a flair for ingredients and the ability to remain calm under pressure.  Responsibilities will include:   Ensuring high culinary standards within the team, maintaining high levels of hygiene control and health and safety through the kitchen.

Receptionist and Part-Time Receptionist

We are looking for an organised, lively and enthusiastic person to join our front of house team. We are looking for someone with a sparkling personality who can create a lasting impression and who has experience of working in a similar front of house receptionist role.

You will be responsible for the smooth operation of the front desk, making sure customer service is of the highest standard at all times. You will show excellence in organisation.

Experience and duties required will include:

 

  • Previous hotel front of house receptionist experience
  • Local to the Bury St Edmunds area preferred but not essential
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per shift rotas which will include evenings and weekends
  • Liaising with all departments on a day to day basis
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Full-Time Porter

As porter you will be required to work shifts including evenings and weekends on a rota basis. The role will require a professional, friendly and courteous service to all our guests.  A full clean driving licence is required for this role as it does include some valet car parking.

The ideal candidate will have some previous experience of working within the hospitality industry in a similar role.
