Abbey Gardens are built on the site of a great Benedictine abbey and at the very centre of historical Bury St Edmunds. They are well known for their stunning floral displays and can be found via the imposing Abbey Gate on Angel Hill. The abbey wall that runs from the ancient Abbot’s Bridge and along the River Lark surrounds the gardens. Various gardens include of a great circle filled with flowerbeds set in well-kept lawns with surrounding seating, secluded areas, the Old English Rose Garden, the Water Garden and the Blind Garden.
