Housekeeping Supervisor

A Housekeeping Supervisor is required to join our professional team at The Angel Hotel. This Georgian ivy-clad 4 star boutique 77-bed hotel in the centre of Bury St Edmunds surprises with a twist of urban chic.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervising a team of 16 housekeepers to ensure guest rooms and public areas are to a high standard of cleanliness.

• Reporting room defects onto an online system, more serious issues to the General Manager.

• Training and developing your team.

• Prepare for and attend monthly management meetings, when required.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Relevant experience, preferably in a hotel.

• Experience in supervising a team.

• A passion for housekeeping and a keen eye for detail.

• Excellent presentation.

• Good communication skills.

• Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.

This is a permanent position. Working 5 days out of 7 which will include weekends and bank holidays, the hotel is a 365 day operation. Although normal hours will be day shifts, we do offer an evening turn down service that will need to be monitored regularly.

Part-time Housekeeper

  • Rooms – To prepare rooms and service as per standards of procedures manual
  • Laundry - Assist Head Housekeeper maintain laundry records
  • Laundry – Assist with packing and unpacking laundry on a daily basis
  • Turndown – To do turndown at least 2 nights per week from approximately 7pm-9pm.  Days to be agreed in weekly rota
  • To ensure a helpful, courteous attitude at all times anticipating and caring for all guests needs.
  • To establish good working relationships with management and colleagues.
  • To ensure correct standards of attendance, appearance conduct and personal hygiene.
  • To ensure prompt and tactful attention to customer complaints and refer without delay.
  • To handle guests requests appropriately.
  • Ensure safe storage and use of chemicals.
  • To take charge of housekeeping keys within your responsibility.
  • To adhere to fire regulations as set out in the staff handbook.
  • To adhere to C.O.S.H.H regulations, as set out in the staff handbook.
  • To adhere to health and safety regulations, as set out in the staff handbook.
  • To follow lost property procedures, as set out in the staff handbook.
  • To report any suspicious circumstances or persons to the Duty Manager immediately.
  • To follow all rules and regulations as set out in the staff handbook.

Restaurant Manager

The Angel Hotel situated in the beautiful Cathedral town of Bury St. Edmunds, has a really exciting opportunity for a passionate restaurant manager, who strives in achieving quality customer care and service. You will have experience in running a full Food and Beverage operation, which serves great rosette standard food and wine, in a fast paced environment, whilst delivering great service with flair and passion.

As the Restaurant Manager you will be accountable for the day to day running of the food & beverage department, overseeing and supporting all aspects of service ensuring high standards and strong attention to detail at all times. The role will also include training and developing your teams, motivation and ensuring the team is working together to deliver the highest standards of customer service during very busy service times. Excellent communication skills and leadership skills will be required to work together with the management team. You will be financially aware, able to control costs and deliver new business wherever possible.

The Angel Hotel is part of the Gough Hotels group based in Suffolk, serving great food with excellent accommodation and service standards.

We are looking for experienced waiting staff to provide a high standard of service to our customers. Previous experience within hotels or restaurants is essential as well as a professional attitude and passion for the hospitality industry.

Full-time and part-time vacancies available. Approximately 35 hours per week to include evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

The successful candidate will be passionate about food, have a flair for ingredients and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities will include ensuring high culinary standards within the team, maintaining high levels of hygiene control and health and safety through the kitchen. Experience of working at this level within a 2AA Rosette kitchen would be an advantage.
